Does strep throat make you cough up blood?

Well I went to the Dr. Tuesday, and he said I had strep no doubt about it, he didn't do any tests at all, but my lymph nodes in my neck were swollen like no other, and so were my tonsils. He prescribed antibiotics and ibuprofen since I had a fever of 102.8. When I cough and bring up any mucus or anything, it is basically pure blood, and my parents say its cause of the strep but looking online from places like Web MD and the likes no place says anything about coughing up blood because of strep throat. I tried gargling salt water but it was pure and clean, but then I'd snort in some mucus to spit (I wake up with basically full sinuses) and it would look like pure blood. Please help. Thank you.
