Why gas is so high at least my far out explaination what do you think?

Yes gas is high because of the war and probobly the middleeast oil nations are chargeing so they say alot. Yet oil companies are having record profits. I think maybe for once the US government and US comanys might be doing somthing good. I know this is far fetched so lets not have all a bunch of people say I an F***ing idiot and that am a crazy lib or whatever. But what if their raisng prices to actully help americans loose our dependency on oil by cutting down on wasteful uses of gas. And actully make american realize that we dont need to waste so much. Make us realize that house wives dont need a hummer or an excursion truck, and that we dont need to have our lights on all day or our heat all the way up to 78 or AC down to 65. What do you all think or I am I crazy?
