Why did Egypt never colonized Libya?

Pobably becuse people had already lved there since ancient times. Libyans actually took over part of Egypt after the decadence of the c 12th century BCE. Also, until recently Libya was not considered resource rich. It was/is mostly just desert. Egypt at least had the Nile.
