Is it illegal to have VTEC on a 97 Acura Integra LS in California?

gsr and ls headers are pretty close to being the same. the gsr flow's a little better. put the intake with the CARB sticker on it, in the car. if the car has the original ls motor in it, ditch the vtec controller and sell it. if it DOES have a swapped motor in it, if i am not mistaken, it can not be a jdm motor. it has to be usdm. the easiest way to check this, is look at the block stamp. its beside the transmission sticker under the head. it will say B18B1 for an ls, or B18C1 for a gsr. B18C5 for a type r. for jdm motors, they will not have a number after the second letter ie: B18B. as for having a swap in it, i don't see why it wouldn't p. i have friends in california with H22 swaps in their eg hatches, and they p the emissions stuff out there.
